Regina

Vec slijedece godine Regina izdaje svoj prvi album istoimenog naziva .

Regina

Regina is a rock band from Sarajevo that was founded in 1989.

Four friends Aleksandar Covic, Boris Milijas, Bojan Milijas and Goran Lucic founded an amateur band in 1989 but the problem they faced was a lack of the singer. After the announcement published in the newspapers and several unsuccessful auditions they found Davor Ebner, the singer of the Sarajevo band “Convoy”.  Afterwards long and arduous discussions that lasted three months Davor agreed to cooperate. Soon after that Bojan Milicevic joined the group. Next year Regina released its first self-titled album. Author of the texts and the music was Aleksandar Covic whose songs was inspired by the Irish band U2. Such hits as “Spavaj”, “Ne pitaj me”, and “Kao nekada ona” can be found on the first album, video clips were also made and very soon this songs became a new hope of the musical stage in the former Yugoslavia.

Soon after the first album first concerts started. The concerts was only on the territory of the Bosnia and Herzegovina at the beginning but very soon they were on the territory of the whole former Yugoslavia. The group acquired a great number of admirers from the very beginning so for some scheduled concerts were held and additional performances. The slogan that accompanied the first album “We are not Merlin, we are Regina” was a sufficient reason to draw media attention to the new group. Rock critics agreed that the band was the successor to the legendary “Index” and “Bijelo dugme”. The euphoria called “Reginomanija” has begun.

The new album called “Ljubav nije za nas” was published in 1991. In this album could be found a self-titled song and the song “Izgledala je malo cudno” (remake of the famous song of the mega popular group “Bijelo dugme”) and also “Ponekad pozelim”. The tour in 1991-1992 was the most unusual concert activity of the rock band. Concerts were held in the cities of the former Yugoslavia in which a ban on movement after 22h was declared. Practically it was the last big tour of any band in the former Yugoslavia. The band stopped with its activities because of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Despite they stopped with performances, Aleksandar Covic and Bojan Milicevic continued to work in Belgrade between 1992 and 1999. They published albums “Regina”, “Oteto od zaborava”, “Godine lete”, “Ja nisam kao drugi”, “Kad zatvorim oci” and “Devedesete”. Since 2000 the group was not active till 2006 when Aleksandar Covic renewed collaboration with the singer Davor Ebner and Bojan Milicevic and the band was re-formed. Denis Cabric who worked with Davor Ebner on some musical projects joined the group soon. The same year old-new group released new album called “Sve mogu ja”. On this album remake of the song “Ljubav nije za has” could be found. This song was a duet with the famous Macedonian singer Elena Ristevski. The songs “Izgledala je malo cudno”, “Sama”, “Sve mogu ja” also became hits, video clips followed this songs.
